🌱 How a local tree nursery is making a difference—one seedling at a time

Tucked away near Clyne Gardens in Swansea, a small but dedicated group of volunteers is helping shape greener neighbourhoods for the future.

Our inspiring short film introduces Coeden Fach Community Tree Nursery, where native trees are raised from locally gathered seed and prepared for planting across the region. But this is about much more than trees. It is a story about people, shared purpose, and the quiet impact of practical action.

The video offers a glimpse into the many activities taking place at the nursery—from nurturing young saplings and improving wildlife habitats to seasonal events and community projects that bring people together outdoors.

For some, volunteering offers the chance to learn about trees and local ecology. For others, it is simply a welcoming space to spend time with others, stay active, and contribute to something meaningful.

🎥 The video was filmed and produced by volunteer Matthew Davies, an experienced documentary maker whose career has included environmental projects and collaborations with major organisations and well-known broadcasters. Since joining Coeden Fach, he has brought his storytelling skills—and longstanding passion for tree planting—to help share the nursery’s work with a wider audience. We are very grateful to Matthew for shareing his skills and producing this beautiful video exploring Coeden Fach.
