Come and join our friendly and fun loving team, help us grow more native trees, make new friends and enjoy being part of a positive environmental project.
Our regular volunteer sessions are held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9.30 am to 1.30pm. We always welcome new volunteers who would like to join us, you are welcome to just pop in and find out more or dive straight in and join a session. You don’t need any prior experience of growing trees.
Activities range from seed collecting and sowing, digging up trees for sale, preparing nursery beds, planting seedlings, weeding and watering to laying mulches and fencing or building raised beds.
We can usually find activities to suit a range of fitness levels and the tasks vary with the seasons. In the winter it is best to come warmly dressed and in the summer with a sunhat and covered shoes. Bring a drink and a snack for when we stop for a break and a chat. We have a wooden shelter and compost toilet but spend almost all our time outdoors and site can get a bit muddy in winter.
Don’t be shy we are a very friendly and welcoming group and the nursery is a great thing to be a part of. Come along and help us grow
